Known as a fixture of the community, The Woman’s Club of Louisville offers a number of different properties brimming with historic charm that are ideal for hosting an intimate big day in Derby City. Originally organized in 1890 for the purpose of promoting and supporting civic improvements -- particularly for women, the organization has since become the center of cultural preservation in the community. For soon-to-be-wed couples searching for a place to host their big day, they can look to the Beaux-Art Clubhouse and Auditorium -- a breathtaking structure designed by E.T. Hutchins and built in the 1920’s. The clubhouse, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, makes an immediate impression with its warm brick facade, stately columns, and grand portico. The clubhouse interior marries the grandiosity of the building’s face with a sense of Old World intimacy that is cultivated through the welcoming fireplaces, ornate moldings, gorgeous paintings, and plush rugs.
