Nestled in the Four Corners area of southwest Missouri, the Civil War Ranch in Carthage, Missouri, is a 73-acre property with a 100-year-old, two-story barn, which has been retrofitted and updated with modern amenities including a Bride's Room, a place for you and your family and bridesmaids to make their preparations; Groom's Room, where the groom and groomsmen can hang out and prep; a catering kitchen; and modern bathrooms.
The Wedding Barn, originally constructed in the late-1800s, has age-weathered red paint and large, welcoming barn doors. The barn is a perfect venue for a down-home country wedding.
Many brides select to have their wedding ceremony on the bank and dock of the 2.5-acre Ranch Pond, an idyllic setting. Numerous majestic trees on the property are well over 100 years old, and the single Barn Courtyard tree is affectionately known as the “wedding tree,” where many choose to host their dreamy outdoor ceremony in the shade of its expansive branches.
The Wedding Barn can accommodate up to 160 guests indoors, but you can always opt for a full outdoor experience in which as many as 300 guests can enjoy the shade of the Pole Barn, the large expanse of the Barn Courtyard and the picturesque setting of the banks of the Ranch Pond.
The Wedding Barn also has a large second-floor deck overlooking the large Ranch Pond below. The pond is home to beautiful sunsets and is a perfect setting for the fireworks displays requested by many wedding parties.
The secluded Spring Creek Pavilion stone stage in the woods west of the Wedding Barn offers bench seating for more than 60, plus a grassy hill for extra guests. The venue also includes a bride dressing room, pavilion dining for 48, its own sound system, a rock-lined creek, natural spring wishing well with a cascading water feature leading into the creek, and a wooden arch bride over the creek that flows into the ranch pond.
For an extra bit of fun, arrange for a horse-drawn wagon or carriage ride to carry you and your lover on a romantic ride around the country property. With its picturesque property, the Civil War Ranch is sure to provide a charming experience in its country venue.
