This 108-acre regional park was first established in 1893 by the Lord family of Elgin, who purchased the farmland from Dr. Joseph Tefft and presented it to the City of Elgin to be used as a city park. This park has a wonderful history and is currently home to some of the area’s destination facilities with the Elgin Public Museum, the Lords Park Zoo, the historic Pavilion and the Lord’s Park Aquatic Center. This park offers numerous facilities in a picturesque setting of mature Hickory and Oak trees on rolling terrain. Picnicking is a popular activity at one of the two permitted picnic shelters. Playgrounds, basketball and tennis complement the open play field used for practice or pickup games. A large little league baseball complex is part of the Lords Park property and includes ten fields used by the little league group. There are two rentable shelters located in Lords Park. Celebrate the most romantic day of your life at Lords Park Pavilion.
