If you are looking for a genuinely lavish, unique, and historic wedding, then Tampa Theatre is the place for you. Built in 1926 as one of America’s most elaborate movie palaces, the Tampa Theatre is a passionately protected and beloved community landmark; it has gone down in history as part of the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. Designed by famed theater architect John Eberson, it is a superior example of Eberson’s “atmospheric” style of design. Upon entering under the Theatre’s “blade sign” marquee, you and your guests will be transported to a classic, lavish, romantic Mediterranean courtyard. Replete with old-world statuary, flowers, and gargoyles, the Tampa Theatre combines a gothic architectural design with vintage romance and glamorous opulence. You and your guests will feel like royalty as you enter the Palace on an exclusive red carpet. The realistic night sky filled with twinkling stars will add to the romance of your ceremony, and will top off your already extraordinary wedding. Equivalent to hosting your wedding in a luxurious, ornate French palace, Tampa Theatre is a fantasyland in which YOU are the star!
The Theatre is fortunate to host many weddings each and every year. Please remember, though, that one of the things that makes us unique to many other wedding venues is that we are a fully programmed theater, presenting a full calendar of films, concerts, field trips and tours for the community. Obligations to film distributors and commitments to regularly-scheduled events must preclude us from renting the Theatre for weddings during certain days and times of the week. This means that we cannot accommodate a rental Friday through Sunday evenings.
