Set against a backdrop of towering oaks and foliage, Stenton sits two stories high with a rustic red brick exterior and windows on all sides. As a National Landmark Stenton is a historic Georgian home with dark brick floors, deep working fireplaces and period charm, like the authentic architectural molding. Stenton is one of the earliest, best-preserved and most well kept historic houses in Philadelphia. Three acres of landscape make up the plantation, well manicured with hedges, grass and most popularly the flowers including roses, irises, and tulips. Guests can file into the main home adorned with colonial rugs, antiques, and 18th century furnishings for drinks around a fire come winter. Attached in an L shape to the main house is an event hall filled with oil paintings and warm downturned lighting that helps keep the setting intimate, yet spacious for a formal dinner and dancing. Stenton ticks the boxes for stunning outdoor options, rooms full of dark wood and old world charm, and a truly historic setting.
