The 1812 Hitching Post with its 18-room main house and 26 private acres of grounds is the only authentic antebellum plantation in the foothills of North Carolina dedicated exclusively to wedding ceremonies and receptions. The original section of the main house with it’s two-story Charleston front porch was built in 1812. The entire first floor is open for your guests as well as the 2nd floor dressing areas and restrooms. When ceremonies are held on the shady side lawn under the giant oak trees, the wedding party walks out the front door and down the brick pathway and then across the green lawn toward the arbor. On the back side of the main house is the primary reception area. The 1100 square foot reception tent and adjoining patio area are the perfect setting for your outdoor reception. The patio area is surrounded with twinkle lights and tiki torches. There is a fire pit on the south side of the courtyard and a fountain to the north. Experience an enchanting wedding day at 1812 Hitching Post.
