The Oakland House is a completely restored mansion built in 1853 by Louis A. Benoist, a pioneer banker. The house is owned and maintained by the Affton Historical Society whose 'Brick and Mortar' gang did the restoration starting back in the 1970s. Oakland is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is recorded by the Historic American Buildings Survey of the U.S. Department of Interior in the Library of Congress. The Oakland House is available for your wedding occasion, whether big or small. Imagine exchanging vows in the lush green grass. The historic house creates the perfect backdrop for your magical moment. Exposed brick, stately columns and large shady trees provide a charming, unique and memorable setting that your guests will remember for years to come. Afterwards, enjoy a private tented reception on the property’s grounds. Experience a perfect wedding day with family and friends at Oakland House Museum.
