Known for its scenic natural beauty and historic grandeur, the Ft. Boykins Historic Park offers an affordable yet lovely backdrop for your wedding day in Isle of Wight County. Originally constructed by Jamestown colonists in 1623, the in-tact structure -- a living homage to Civil War architecture -- still stands today atop a bluff overlooking the James River. This beautiful park also includes a beautiful black walnut tree that is over 200 years old, making it the oldest of its kind in the United States. Say your “I do’s” beneath one of the park’s many mature trees, creating a grove-like setting for your ceremony. You can also exchange your vows on a secluded river beach surrounded by wildflowers, the beautiful water creating an idyllic backdrop to your first kiss as spouses. With its lush green fields, gorgeous views of the water, white-sand beaches, and mature trees, this park is a true paradise for couples and wedding photographers alike!
